Due to expansion, an exciting opportunity has arisen to join an established supportive team to further develop the skills of others in delivering excellence in care. St Michael’s Hospice has been providing the highest quality care, to the local community for over 35 years. As a Trainer/Assessor, you will be working alongside the existing education team to support and develop the role of others to provide the best possible care for our patients; this will include hands on care to patients in order to enable people to live fully until they die. You will need to have experience of providing personal care e.g. as a Health Care Assistant, Therapy Assistant or Support Worker – preferably within a palliative care context. You will also need to have had experience of training or supporting groups and individuals e.g. through induction. You will need to be able to convey complex information in a clear and confident manner whilst adapting your style to suit the needs to your audience. The position will include classroom as well as regular clinical practice based days. The post offers flexible days / hours, usually between Monday and Friday, that support the needs of the service and training requirements. The position would suit an individual looking for a minimum of 22.5 hours per week, or up to 37.5hrs.
